The best time to trek in Northern Vietnam are the months of milder tempernatures, from late September to November and again in March and April. The winters in the Northern Vietnam, especially in January and February, can get colder than you might expect, especially in the mountainous regions, with tempernatures reaching 12-15oC. The humidity is high all-year at 60-80%, making winters cold and wet and summer hot and humid. During the summer, the average temperatures is around 30 - 35oC. The rain season lasts from late May to late September, and white rains can  be quite heavy, the rain is not consistent and does not usually ruin a hikking tour. 4. What to Bring When Trekking in Northern Vietnam

The weather and hiking typography in Vietnam are different from other countries. So even if you’re an experienced hiker, it’s essential to know what to bring.  And here are the things that should come along with you:

- Waterproof clothes: Ironically speaking, Vietnam has only two seasons: rainy season and rainier season. With this kind of weather, remember to bring waterproof clothes, or else it will cause you discomfort.
- Anti-blister socks: These are super important when you hike in the deep forest. If you can’t find these socks, you can use blister-preventing lubricants instead. In Vietnam, there is a gel called D.E.P (Dietyl Phtalat) used to eliminate blisters.
- Warm-quality hiking boots. cotton clothes.
- Flashlight/headlamp.
- Mosquito repellent, sunscreen.
- At least something from the medicine cabinet, toilet paper.
- Tent + warm sleep bag (longer hikes).
- Very suitable is also GPS navigation (google maps + mobiphone)
